The last picture show: AMC CLASSIC Chambersburg 7 movie theater closes

On Sunday, April 16, the 7:30 p.m. showing of “The Super Mario Bros. Movie” was screened for an audience of just over 30 people at the AMC CLASSIC Chambersburg 7 in the Chambersburg Mall. The animated film featuring Nintendo’s famous pair of plumbers and starring Chris Pratt, Charlie Day and Anya Taylor-Joy was the final movie to ever be screened there. Beauty Shop of Horrors: Inside the makeup room for ‘Haunted Jail 2022’

Deep in the heart of the Franklin County Historical Society (175 East King St.), is a nondescript space called the Minehart Room. On a normal day, it is a pleasant-enough venue for hosting small exhibits and board meetings. Today, however, folding tables are set up as if planning for triage.
